Lake Forest Police Department Creates Commemorative Breast Cancer Awareness Patch

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This year, in addition to wearing our pink ribbon pins and placing pink ribbon decals on our vehicles, we have created a commemorative patch. For a $20 contribution, donors will receive a commemorative patch. All proceeds from the Breast Cancer Awareness patches go directly to the Posy Krehbiel Breast Center at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. Throughout the month we will be accepting donations at the Public Safety Building, as well as at planned events:

The Breast Care Center prides itself on being a partner in a woman’s lifelong journey of breast care—which includes self-examinations, disease prevention, cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment option management, post-treatment healing, and return to wellness, with leading-edge expertise in breast reconstruction surgery. They have many of the region’s leading, board-certified breast care specialists on their staff and are guided by a Medical Advisory Council of physicians. The board-certified physicians, radiologists, nurses, and technologists all have specialized skills for breast care screening and treatment. In fact, several radiologists have subspecialty training in Women’s Imaging, making them highly qualified to read and interpret breast images.
