Lake-Woodbine Bridge Project Updates

The City of Lake Forest hosted a second Public Information Meeting on Wednesday, February 16 regarding the proposed replacement of the Lake-Woodbine Bridge located on Lake Road just north of Woodbine Lane. A previous Public Information Meeting was held on Monday, December 13, 2021.

There was a brief presentation that reviewed:
  • The project background and work to date.
  • A summary of the public input offered at the last meeting.
  • Updated design options for bridge-type and railing.
  • Next steps.

Lake Woodbine Bridge DRAFT rendering 2.18.22

The Lake-Woodbine Bridge design displayed here will be presented to the Historic Preservation Commission in March. The bridge design is draft and subject to change.

This project is in the preliminary development stage and no reports or detailed engineering analyses have been developed beyond the Bridge Condition Report are currently available. The project will require the issuance of a Certificate of Appropriateness from the City’s Historic Preservation Commission. Commission review of a proposed design is tentatively scheduled for March 16, 2022. Additional community outreach will occur prior to any construction activities.
