Special Event Permit
City Officials will continue to monitor updates from the Governor's Office and Illinois Department of Public Health regarding these activities, and will further evaluate protocols for Public Gatherings or Community Events as they become available. A Special Event application is required when a community event is located in whole or in part on public property (or on private property within the City when it may have a direct effect upon public property, traffic flow or public health or safety, and which may require the use of special City services).
Requested dates, times, and locations are considered on a first-come, first-served basis, pending staff (and in some instances, City Council) review, recommendations and approval. Applications can be obtained at City Hall, 220 East Deerpath, between 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The completed application must be submitted to City Hall no later than ninety days prior to the event. For additional information, please email or call Kim McCann at 847.810.3675.
