Deerpath/Route 41 Viaduct/Pump Station Project
The objective of the project is to mitigate the flooding problem at Deerpath and Route 41, by constructing a new pumping station at the southwest corner of Ahwahnee Lane and Deerpath Road.
Latest Construction Update
At the southeast corner:
Work will continue at the Pump Station building site throughout the fall and winter months with limited impacts to traffic on Deerpath Road and Ahwahnee Lane. Control measures, such as signage and flaggers (if necessary), will be in place to direct traffic in and around this area.
Landscaping activities around Detention Pond #1 (west pond) and Detention Pond #2 (east pond) are substantially complete. These areas will officially open up to golfers next spring. Check out the FAQ section for a detailed planting list.
A streetscape/landscape plan for the north side of Deerpath Road along the golf course is also being developed. The plan is currently in its preliminary design phase. Check back for updates soon!
Contractor: Berger Construction
Timeline: Construction began in November 2020 and is expected to be completed by December 2022
Funding Amount/Source: Project cost is $12,127,335 and is being funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT)
Construction Hours: Contractors are working from 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on weekdays. Should Deerpath need to be reduced to one lane, flaggers will be present to direct trucks entering and existing Deerpath Golf Course.
